The end is nigh!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.  We’ve just had our final dim sum of the year, and I am ready to explode.  This can only mean one thing - it’s the last day of work for us this year (we’re shut for communication, but not for posting/buying etc over the holidays) and it’s CHRIIIIIIISSSSTTTMAS!

Merry Christmas to everyone, and hope you have a fulfilling and entertaining next year.  Thanks for all your support, and we look forward to seeing more jobs and candidates next year.

Cheers everyone, and good luck with the mince pies.

Chinwag Live touches down

We’ve been busy with a few new projects at Chinwag Towers over the last while and can now give you the lowdown our new events series for 2007: Chinwag Live.

http://live.chinwag.com

The series consists of informal Q&A sessions that we’re running throughout next year to delve under the covers of issues affecting the digital media industries. The format is very ‘Chinwag’ - a big comfy room under a pub, some great speakers, no long presentations, lots of Q&A, plenty of audience involvement, some drinks and a few snacks.

It’s all in the details

The first event is on Tuesday 6th February. Titled ‘Wobble 2.0′ it asks: when Web 2.0 meets Bubble 2.0 what is the result - sustainable business or faddish pipe dreams? We’ve got a great line up of speakers on the night from Zopa, Skinkers, Carson Systems and a certain journalist. Then there’s the equally fab audience that you can be part of.

Bookings & more info

For more infomation and booking details (there’s a hefty early bird discounted rate of £15+VAT that expires 22nd January), check out: http://live.chinwag.com

Chinwag Jobs Supports Recruiters With New Services

We’re please to launch a series of new professional services to help take the hard work out of creating, posting and managing adverts on Chinwag Jobs. So, we banged our heads together and put together a bunch of new services that aim to take away the pain.

For recruiters, why not let the Chinwag Team take the strain of posting and reporting on your roles, so you can spend more time with candidates and clients.

If recruiting isn’t your day job, or perhaps even if it is, we also have partnered with a team of crack recruitment copywriters who will write your job vacancy specifically for the web. Great for Chinwag Jobs, your own recruitment pages and other other services. Here’s a little more info on the new services:

Posting Service

Haven’t got the time to post your advert on our website yourself? Need to spend your time talking to clients rather than posting ads? For a small extra charge one of our posting team will post the advert for you, ensuring the best use of our website to maximise the use of our functionality.

Professional Copywriting Service

Crafting a job advert is a skilled and time-consuming process. Our service will take your copy and create a professional, clear, legally-compliant and responsive advert tailored to your audience. You can use this copy on any job service or publication. We use a team of copywriters with years of experience specialising in web-based recruitment marketing.

Personalised Statistical Report

All the statistics regarding your job advertisements can be accessed for free, across all your users on our website. However, should you require a hassle-free personalised report across all your users and their roles without spending any of your own time or energy; we can provide you with a snapshot and detailed account of what’s happened with your entire job postings on the website.

For more details, why not download our ratecard, which has the fully skinny on all Chinwag Jobs’ advertising, sponsorship and professional services.

Sparkly New Ratecard

We’re bringing in the New Year, a little early admittedly, with some new bells, whistles, services and some handy charts. So, it’s dead easy to compare all the new stuff available.

It’s available for download along with lots of other info on our advertising info page. If you have any queries, drop us a line or give us a bell on +44 (0)870 730 7313.

Plain English Campaign Golden Bull winner - a recruiter!

I couldn’t help but laugh reading the Metro newspaper this morning on the way to work. They mentioned the Plain English Campaign and some of the highlights, and a recruitment advert that had won the Golden Bull award. Here for your reading pleasure, is the advert (and no, I have no idea what they’re after either!):

Wheale, Thomas, Hodgins plc for a job advertisement

‘Our client is a pan-European start-up leveraging current cutting edge I.P. (already specified) with an outstanding product/value solutions set. It is literally the right product, in the right place at the right time… by linking high-value disparate legacy systems to achieve connectivity between strategic partners/acquisition targets and/or disparate corporate divisions. The opportunity exists to be the same (i.e. right person etc. etc) in a growth opportunity funded by private equity capital that hits the ’sweet-spot’ in major cost driven European markets.’

I think you’ll agree, that is some kind of wonderful.

If you’d like to find out more about the Plain English Campaign do have a wander round their website.

Propel London launches Christmas Banner Campaign across leading digital job sites.

We just received a press release from Propel London, and thought we’d share it with you:

For the month of December, Propel London Ltd will be running a special banner campaign across a variety of publishing sites within the New Media space. The campaign is being run to spread festive cheer among the market place and donate money via every click-through to Propel’s chosen charity, Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK.

As it’s Christmas, the team at Propel London Ltd wanted to do something useful; so rather than take their clients and candidates out drinking, they thought they would save a few livers while helping this well deserving charity.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants wishes of children and young people aged 3 to 17 living with life-threatening illnesses.

They are a fantastic charity and Propel London Ltd are proud to be a fundraiser.

So, when you see the “Merry Christmas” banner, please take the time to visit our site and help us make a difference.

Chinwag Jobs has been chosen as one of the digital jobs boards to host Propel’s banner up until Christmas day. Go on, get clicking! :)

Online Recruitment Training Announced - 8th March 2007

After some great feedback from the last course, we’re running another Online Recruitment session. Here’s the skinny:

  • Date: Thursday 8th March 2007
  • Location: The Hospital (v. swish), central London
  • Time: 9am - 5pm

Better still there’s an 10% early bird discount off bookings made before 31st January 2007.

The last course was fully-booked and there was much discussion afterwards in the bar, about which bits of the course would be put into practice. Check out the feedback. We were dead chuffed and thought it was about time we organised another one.

The best thing about the course is that it’s just a day out of the office, and gives a really in-depth and wide-ranging review of online recruitment techniques and tips. There’s more information and booking details in our training section.
