We’re looking for a junior designer to help out at Justgiving. You’ll be building and modifying microsites which allow registered charities to collect donations from fundraisers and donors. You’ll also get the chance to work on our award-winning website, Justgiving.com, and our American site, Firstgiving.com. You’ll be working alongside a small, dedicated design team, and reporting to our lead designer.

Responsibilities

• Use Macromedia Dreamweaver to design microsites using each client’s chosen branding and design
• Add client emails and microsite details using Quantiv, our in-house Content Management System
• Project manage the creation of client microsites and liaise directly with clients to gather feedback and update sites
• Design graphics and banner ads as needed by both charity clients, Justgiving and Firstgiving
• Update Justgiving.com and Firstgiving.com where necessary
• Administrate content developed in Macromedia contribute Skills and experience

Computer skills: Excellent knowledge of up to date web design techniques, ideally using Macromedia Dreamweaver MX. A good knowledge of HTML and CSS, plus Macromedia Fireworks MX, Macromedia Contribute and possibly Adobe Photoshop. Ideally you’ll also have some experience with databases and/or Content Management Systems.

Design skills: You’ll be interested in beautiful and well laid out design using grid layouts and the use of white space. You’ll have a number of portfolio URLs for us to look at, using clear, neat and semantic markup and CSS for design purposes.

Personal and communication skills: Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on effective design. Able to liaise maturely and comfortably with clients, and, occasionally, juggle more than one project at a time. Able to manage time effectively and plan projects in advance. Able to get on with others and be a team player in a friendly, casual office environment.
